Veg Chow mein

Chow Mein are my all time favorite when it’s comes to Chinese cuisines. There are a ton of options to choose from, in terms of taste and ingredients. Both in the Veg and non-veg platter, you can mix and match your own preferences and bring out a new flavor altogether.

Today we bring to you a simple yet tasty Veg Chow mien recipe, which I am sure you love to make for your family. As always, this recipe too doesn’t require any special ingredients that are hard to search for. All are readily available in your local market.

So let’s start the recipe;

Ingredients::

  • Atta Noodles::150 gms;
  • Mushroom::1 big cup;
  • Cattot::1 medium sized;
  • Red Cabbage::1 big cup;
  • Onion::1 medium sized;
  • Ginger:: An inch;
  • Garlic:: 5-6 cloves;
  • Soya Sauce::2 tbsp;
  • Green Chilli Sauce::1 tbsp;
  • White Vineger::2 tbsp;
  • Tomato Sauce:: 2tbsp;
  • Powdered Sugar:: 1 tsp;
  • Chili flakes (optional)::1 tsp;
  • Olive Oil::4-5 tsp;

Directions::

  • Boil the noodles as per package instructions. After draining the excess water, put a tablespoon of olive oil on the noodles, so that they remain separated.
  • Next, chop the veggies and prepare the sauce beforehand.
  • Heat a pan and give three tablespoons of Olive oil. Let the oil heated up, then add the chopped onion, garlic, and ginger, and let them cook for a while or until the onion starts to lighten a bit. Then add the mushroom and 1/2 teaspoon of salt so that the mushroom gets cooked up fast. Next, add the rest of the veggies and saute the mixture before adding in the sauce. I want my veggies to be a bit crunchy, so I added the noodles before the veggies got overcooked. Then it’s all mix, mix, and nothing else. Add the rest of the salt or as per your taste and our Veg chow mein is ready to serve.
  • For the garnish, I used some peanuts, some red chili slices, and some coriander leaves.

And our taste and most importantly nourishing Veg chow mien is ready to serve. Serve it hot, but in my opinion, the flavors melt more if eaten on the next day. The choice is yours. Enjoy!!
