Rosted Tomato Sauce

Winter calls for some different meal attack altogether for some of us and what’s more could be mouth-watering, than a Pizza. I know Dominos and Pizza Hut are busy than ever to supply our best Pizzas in our homes. But today I thought to do it all by myself. Yes, I know very well, I am not an expert in this, but I will definitely give this a try today.

The first thing that comes to our mind for preparing Pizza is the Pizza sauce. And that too, my friend will be homemade today. Say ‘no’ to the store-bought Pizza sauce. It’s very easy to make and takes very little effort and time.

Ingredients::

  • Tomatoes-3 medium-sized.
  • Onion-1 medium-sized
  • Olive oil-2 tsp.
  • Few Basil Leaves
  • Dry Italian herbs-1tsp.
  • Salt and Sugar as per taste.
  • Black pepper as per taste.

Procedure::

Step 1:: Roast the tomatoes on the stovetop, with the help of a fork one by one. Rotate the tomatoes, so that it get roasted from all sides.

Step 2:: Let the tomatoes cool for some time. After that remove the outer layer.

Step 3:: Cut the roasted tomatoes into small chunks and don’t remove the liquid inside. This will help to make the sauce, without adding water.

Step 4:: Put Olive oil in a frying pan and add thinly diced onions. Fry till the onions become light in color. Thereafter, add the tomato slices and cook on a medium flame for 3-4 minutes or until the tomato slices are soft and mashy.

Step 5:: Mashed the tomatoes with a fork or you can use a potato masher if you had it handy. Now make a rough chop of the Basil Leaves and put them in the pan. Add the Italian dry herbs, Black Pepper, Salt, and Sugar at this stage.

Remove the pan from the stovetop and your tomato sauce is ready. Let it cool completely before you use it to make the Pizza. You can also make it a day before to save time.
